AI Summary of Communications

If creating summaries can be a time consuming task, reading each communication and understanding each of them can be even more taxing on your time. Borealis offers summarization tools for the Description field of communications along with the ability to automatically populate the Summary field with the generated summary. This allows you and your team to quickly get an overview of communications and can assist you with your stakeholder engagement strategy.

Create the Summary of a Communication

  1. Navigate to the communication you want to view or create a summary of.
  2. Mouseover the Details section of the communication.
  3. Click the Summarize button in the upper right corner of the Details section.

  4. A summary will then be generated in the AI Summary box regardless of whether a summary already exists for this communication or not.
    Note that unless you actively save the summary, this is an on-demand field and it will not be saved.
  5. You then have several options available:
    • Save summary: If the Summary field is empty, your newly created summary will be automatically saved to the field.
      • If text is already present in the Summary field, 2 options will be available and allow you to Replace the existing text or to Insert below the existing text.

    • Edit: If the Summary field is empty, clicking the Edit button will open the communication Details window and you will be able to edit your newly created summary then Save it.
      • If text is already present in the Summary field, 2 options will be available and allow you to Replace the existing text or to Insert below the existing text.

You can also click the Copy to clipboard icon to the right of the Summary and paste the content into another medium as needed.

You can also click the X button to close the summary without saving it to the communication.
