To keep data up-to-date, it is possible to deactivate land titles either permanently, or temporarily and reactivate them at a later date when they are needed.
When a land title record is deactivated:
- This record will be greyed out in the list page.
- You will no longer be able to edit the deactivated record.
- The record will no longer appear in drop-down lists where it normally would.
This also means that you will not be able to link other records to this record. All titleholders for this land title will be deactivated as well. This means that related parcels will no longer have active owners in the system.
Deactivating a land title is typically done when a new land title replaces it.
Deactivating and Activating a record leaves a trace in the Action history, which can be accessed from the left-hand menu at the bottom of the screen.
