Add a Titleholder to a Land Title

Titleholders are stakeholders who own an interest in a property, as defined by a land title. In Boréalis, when a titleholder is associated with a parcel on a land title, the stakeholder, land title, and parcel records are automatically linked.

Important: Add or remove titleholders from a land title only to correct data entry errors. If ownership of the land title changes, create a new land title instead. Creating a new land title will automatically prompt the deactivation of the previous land title.

You can add one or more stakeholders as titleholders to a land title in the following ways:

• Manually create a land title

• Import land titles using the Excel template

• Import titleholders using the Excel template

• Add titleholders to your land title manually

Add a Titleholder to an Existing Land Title

1. Navigate to Land titles in Land access.
2. Select and open the land title to which you want to add a titleholder.
3. In the left-hand record menu, click the + Add in-line option for Titleholders OR select Titleholders and click the + Add button in the Titleholders information page.
   

4. Select the titleholder or create a new one (individual or organisation), from the Stakeholder drop-down list.

   

5. You can also select the type of tenancy from the Tenancy type drop-down list, specify the Titleholder interest and Alias.
6. Click the Save button.

Edit a Titleholder Information in a Land Title

1. Navigate to Land titles in Land access.
2. Select and open the land title for which you want to edit a titleholder.
3. In the left-hand menu, select Titleholders.
4. Hover over the titleholder you want to edit.
5. Click the Edit button on the right-hand side of the information window.
   

6. Modify the information as needed.

   

7. Click the Save button.

Remove a Titleholder from a Land Title

1. Navigate to Land titles in Land access.
2. Select and open the land title for which you want to remove a titleholder.
3. In the left-hand menu, select Titleholders.
4. Hover over the titleholder you want to remove.
5. Click the Remove button on the right-hand side of the information window.
   

Note: If a titleholder is linked through a parcel associated with the land title, you cannot remove that titleholder directly. To remove the titleholder, update the parcel information instead. The titleholder information on the land title will be updated automatically based on the revised parcel details.
