Available in the next weeks - New Ongoing Processes View: A Clearer Picture of Stakeholder Engagement

Managing stakeholder engagement across multiple processes and modules can be complex — especially when key information is scattered across different parts of the system. To make this easier, we are happy to introduce a new dedicated “Ongoing” tab within the What's Happening section of the stakeholder stakeholder profile, providing users with immediate, centralized visibility into active stakeholder-related processes.

This enhancement new feature designed to reduce the time spent hunting for updates and make it easier to stay aligned across teams. Whether you’re planning your daily activities or coordinating follow-ups, everything you need to know is now at your fingertips.

Main Features

  • A fully integrated summary view of all active stakeholder-related processes — across Stakeholder Engagement, Grievances, Social Investment, Land Management, and Tasks.
  • Streamlined Navigation: Click on any process listed to open its detailed record.
  • Personalized Experience: Users can choose their default tab between “Ongoing,” “Recent Communication,” or “AI Summary” — and this setting will only affect their view.

Key Benefits

  • Time-Saving Visibility: Quickly understand what’s in progress, who’s responsible, and what actions are pending — without navigating multiple modules.
  • Better Coordination: Supports day-to-day planning and cross-team collaboration by clearly showing the next steps and owners of each process.
  • Informed Decision-Making: Up-to-date information at your fingertips helps you take timely, strategic action.
  • Improved Workflow Continuity: Drill into details without losing your place or breaking your focus.

Other improvements

US Database of Government Officials - Expanded data coverage

Our US Database of Government Officials (USDGO) is a powerful tool to help users manage interactions with government stakeholders more efficiently. Based on our client feedback, we’ve expanded and refined the data to make it even more useful:

Expanded Coverage:

We’ve added over 10,000 officials from the Federal Executive Branch, including key departments such as:

  • Department of State
  • Department of Energy
  • Department of Commerce
  • Department of the Interior
  • Office of the President

Congressional Staff Additions:

We’ve included more than 5,000 additional staff members linked to members of Congress—such as executive assistants, press secretaries, and others—complementing the chiefs of staff that were already part of the database.

Terminology Update:

To improve clarity, districts previously labeled “Electoral Districts” have been renamed to “House Districts.”

Project Filter Visibility Enhancement

To improve data clarity, Borealis now makes active project filters clearly visible across lists, dashboards, widgets, and record pages. Previously, users often struggled to find data or mistakenly believed records were missing, not realizing an active project filter was limiting their view. This enhancement introduces a synchronized project filter interface and clear filter indicators throughout the application, including during record creation and within analytics tools. Users can now easily recognize, adjust, or remove project filters without interrupting their workflow — leading to faster access to relevant data, fewer entry errors, and more informed decision-making.

Payment Campaigns for Land Agreements

The Borealis Land Management module now includes a comprehensive invoicing feature, closing a critical gap in the payment process for land-related agreements. With this enhancement, finance and land teams can streamline their workflows by generating system-approved invoices, and managing bulk payments through structured campaigns. Payment items are now grouped, tracked, and approved in a standardized workflow, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency. Invoices can be exported in Word or PDF, providing a reliable audit trail. This release significantly reduces manual effort, supports better financial oversight, and reinforces Borealis as a complete, end-to-end land management solution.

New Action to Convert Individuals into Organizations

To reduce database clutter and improve data consistency, Borealis now allows users to convert stakeholder records mistakenly created as individuals into organizations. This feature is especially helpful when stakeholders are auto-created via the Outlook Add-in. Users can choose to create a new organization or merge with an existing one, with key contact and relationship information automatically carried over. Fields that cannot be transferred will be clearly indicated, helping users make informed decisions during the conversion process. This enhancement simplifies data correction, reduces manual cleanup, and ensures greater accuracy in stakeholder reporting and analytics.

Land Management Improvements

Stakeholder & Parcel Visibility

  • Engagement Plans: The stakeholder map now displays the parcels linked to each stakeholder.
  • Parcel Selection Enhancements: When defining a zone in the Parcel selection action within Land Engagement Plans, users can now activate any map layer for more precise drawing.

Communication Enhancements

  • A new “Parcels” section is available in the Communication record menu, showing linked parcels at a glance (also accessible in “Edit” view).
  • A new action “Link to Agreement” is now available on the Communications page, and can be applied to multiple communications at once.
  • A new “Link to Parcel/Property” action, enables users to associate one or multiple communications with a specific parcel or with all parcels of a property.

Agreements & Conditions

  • Land Agreements UI Update: The creation and record pages have been reorganized into clearly defined sections, streamlining the process and improving usability.
  • Users can now attach a specific geometry to a condition within an agreement. This geometry can also be imported, allowing for greater precision in spatial conditions.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Smart comms: The Email subject can now be overridden directly in the system.

Analytics

  • Users can now apply an “Is empty” filter on calculated values (e.g., concatenations, counts, etc.), allowing for more flexible data exploration.
  • A new action, “Go to list”, has been added to the options menu (three-line icon) on graphs. This lets you quickly access the full list of records represented in a chart for deeper analysis.

General

  • Search: Users can now search by any email address associated with a stakeholder—not just the primary one—making it easier to find the right contact.
