Managing land-related payments has always been a critical — and often complex — part of land negotiations. From leases and consents to compensation agreements, finance and land teams have had to juggle spreadsheets, manual approvals, and external invoicing tools to get the job done.
The new Payment Campaigns feature in the Borealis Land Management module introduces a centralized, automated workflow for handling payments, calculating taxes, and generating invoices.

Main Features
- Agreement Status Enhancements: New “Planned” status added for pre-negotiation phases. Agreements can now only be created in “Planned,” “In Negotiation,” or “Active” status.
- Compensation & Payment Item Updates: Includes provisional status for draft items and improved status naming such as “Active - To Pay,” “Partially Paid,” “Paid,” and “Cancelled.”
- Mandatory Payment Campaigns: Payments must be processed through campaigns; manual status updates to “Paid” are no longer supported.
- Smart Grouping of Payments: Automatically link due items to campaigns or add them manually. Each item can only belong to one campaign.
- Invoice & File Generation: Generates payment files per stakeholder and agreement. Customizable invoice templates can be exported in Word or PDF.
- Approval Workflow: New user profile “LM - Payment Campaign Approver” required to validate campaigns. Notifications can alert approvers. Campaigns move to “Closed - Payment Completed” or “Rejected.”
- Tax Calculation: Create named tax types with defined percentages. Taxes are applied automatically and separated clearly in invoices.
