The Global search button is located in the top bar and is available throughout the Borealis application. When you use the global search, the search filter drop-down list on the right will either be empty, which means your search will be done throughout the entire application or will have already selected the register you want to search into based on where you opened the global search from.
You can choose to clear the search filter drop-down list by click on the X (clear) to the right of the field.
Use the Global Search Function
The global search function is available from anywhere in the Borealis application. It allows you to search through all the records of the application to find information.
- Click on the Search icon in the upper left corner of your screen.
- In the Search field (left field), specify what you want to search for.
- In the Search filter drop-down list, select the register you want to perform your search in or click the X (clear) to the right of the field to empty it and search throughout the whole application.
By default, the register you are currently performing your search from will be selected. - You can then either click on one of the filtered options under the search box or click the Search button.
After clicking the Search button, the search results will be displayed in a record list allowing you to select them individually and view them.
Advanced Search Filters
When you have a register selected, you can use the advanced search filters to refine your search further or to narrow down additional results based on additional details.
- Click on the Search icon in the upper left corner of your screen.
- If no register is selected in the Search filter drop-down list, select one.
- Click the Advanced search in the upper right corner of the search window.
A list of additional fields will then be displayed. These fields vary based on which register is selected in the Search drop-down list. - Click the Search button.
