Edit Properties in Scatter Plot Widgets

Properties depend on your widget type. Scatter plots are mostly used for mapping purposes (e.g., stakeholder mapping purposes), to graphically represent assessment axes in relation to one another.

You can modify the following information in the Properties tab to adjust the display:

Columns

Values you select for the columns are used as dots on the scatter plot.

Depending on the values you select for your columns, going above 3 columns may impact your scatter plot readability.

Generally, the key columns when building a Stakeholder Mapping widget are: First Name, Last Name, Full Name, Organisation, Position.

X axis values

Select the data you want to use as your X axis.

If you are working to create a Stakeholder Mapping widget, select an assessment axis.

Y axis values

Select the data you want to use as your Y axis.

If you are working to create a Stakeholder Mapping widget, select another assessment axis, different from the one selected in the X axis.

Z axis values

The Z axis value shows the range of values for a variable dependent on the two other variables (X and Y).

The value you select as the Z axis is the one that will put in perspective your X and Y value by increasing or decreasing the dot size.

Add categories

Select the data which you want to display differently in the scatter plot.

Categories you select will allow you to add a layer of color in your scatter plot. For example, your dots could be colored by organisation or an individual’s categorization.
