- Borealis recommends to use the Outlook Add-in to facilitate the transfer of emails, meetings, and contacts from Outlook to Borealis. To get to know how to install the Outlook Add-in, please refer to our article here.
- The below article is only intended to users who do not have access to the Outlook Add-in feature.
BCC emails and the aliases are the key components that allow you to use the Mail Handler feature create communications and import contacts into Borealis quickly and efficiently.
Through them, you can:
- Create a new communication by sending the email or by sending meeting request from your email client to Borealis
- Export your contacts from your mail client to Borealis.
- Transfer emails in batch to create multiple communications directly in Borealis.
In short, they are tools that allow the mail handler to process email messages and meetings and convert them into communication while also being able to link them to existing records in the system.

BCC Email Address
You can quickly create new communications in Borealis by transferring emails to the general BCC email address.
- Click on your User Profile icon in the right hand corner of the top bar.
- Click Email integration.
- In the Email integration window, scroll down to Sending emails.
- Click the Copy to clipboard button and note down the address somewhere for later use.
Batch Email Address
This Borealis Mail Handler lets you mass create communications in Borealis by forwarding emails in batch to the Borealis Batch email address.
After identifying the emails, you can forward them in batch to create a communication of type 'email' for each one.
- Click on your User Profile icon in the right hand corner of the top bar.
- Click Email integration.
- In the Email integration window, scroll down to Sending emails in batch.
- Click the Copy to clipboard button and note down the address somewhere for later use.
Email Alias List
You can also use BCC aliases to directly link a communication to existing records in the system such as engagement plans, projects, subject categories, and many more. BCC aliases function like BCC email addresses.
As new elements are created, aliases will be generated for them in the Email aliases list.
Find the Alias You Need to Use
- Navigate to Email aliases in Configuration.
- Use the headers to filter on the alias you are looking for.
Keep in mind that it's possible that several types of items could have the same name. For example, you could first start by filtering the Title of what you are looking for, then on the Type. - The Email column contains the email you can use to create communications directly linked to that record.
- You can either click on the record to open it and then copy paste the email address in your email.
OR you can export it as a vCard.
Export an Email Alias as a vCard
- Navigate to Email aliases in Configuration.
- Locate the email alias you need to use.
- Mouseover the record line of the alias you want to export.
- Click on Export as vCard on the right hand side of the list page.
The vCard file will then be downloaded. - You can import the VCF file in your email client. The alias will then be available from your email client Contacts.
