Change Your Default Browser on Windows and Mac

Your default web browser might not be optimal for navigating in Borealis or you may want to use some of the additional features native to another browser such as using the chrome integrated search engine.

Borealis supports the following browsers:

• Chrome
• Microsoft Edge
• Firefox
• Safari

Windows 10

1. Click the Start button.
2. Type Default apps in the search bar.
3. Select Default apps in the search results.
4. Under Web browser, select one of the supported web browsers

Windows 11

1. Click the Start button.
2. Type Default apps in the search bar.
3. Select Default apps in the search results.
4. In the Set defaults for applications search bar, enter the name of the browser you want to use by default. 
5. Click the name of the desired browser.
6. Click the Set default button to the right of the first option. This will make the selected browser your default browser.

1. Open the Apple menu.
2. Select System Preferences.
3. Select General.
4. In Default web browser menu, select the browser you want to use by default.
