To create parcels or to generally track map polygons for different types of assets in Borealis (e.g., Compliance areas, Company assets, Land units, Organisations, etc. you will need to import geometry files.
Borealis uses Shapefiles in conjunction with a projection system to draw the points, lines and polygons associated with records on the map.
Import Geometry Files to Borealis
- Navigate to Geometry import in Configuration.
- Click the + Create button in the upper left corner of the list page.
- Fill in the mandatory fields:
- Asset type: This indicates the type of asset being imported. The type of asset selected will determine in which register the geometries will be available.
- Spatial reference system (projection): This indicates the spatial reference system to use in conjunction with your geometry files. Borealis offers several options and if you find yourself needing additional ones, you can contact our support and we may be able to add it to Borealis.
- You can then either click the Select file button, navigate to your Compressed .ZIP location on your desktop and upload it from there
OR you can click and drag the Geometry .ZIP file into the File (ZIP) box to upload it.
- Click the Save button. You can also flag Create another to upload another geometry file.
You can also press and hold the ALT key to change the Save button to Save and view to view your imported file.
