The map view — accessed via the application menu — displays records associated with a geographic location on an interactive map. It is one of the primary workspaces to visualize assets, understand project impacts, and take operational action.
This article covers the following:
Basic Navigation
| Action | How to do it |
|---|---|
| Zoom in / out | Use the zoom controls (bottom right) or scroll with your mouse wheel |
| Zoom to a specific area | Hold Shift and drag a rectangle on the map |
| Pan the map | Click and drag |
| Center on a location | Double-click anywhere on the map |
Showing and Hiding Layers
The layer panel on the left side of the map controls which categories of information are displayed. Click any layer name to toggle its visibility, or use the filter options to refine what is shown within a layer.
Hiding Inactive Records
By default, inactive records are hidden from the map to keep the view clean and focused on active data. A toggle button appears under each layer name, allowing you to show inactive records when needed.
Note: This feature must be enabled. Contact us if it is not available in your environment.
Bookmarking a Map View
Use the Bookmark button to save a specific map view — including your zoom level, position, and visible layers. Bookmarks let you return to a frequently used view without having to navigate each time, which is especially useful when all your activities are concentrated in one region.
