How to Create a Stakeholder Communication Using the Borealis for Microsoft Teams App

This article explains how to create a stakeholder communication in Borealis directly from Microsoft Teams using the Borealis for Microsoft Teams App. Use it when a meeting or relevant Teams conversation should be recorded in Borealis without manually re-entering core meeting details.

Steps to create a stakeholder communication

  1. Open the relevant Teams meeting or chat and then open the Borealis tab.
  2. Connect to your Borealis instance, and then click Login. Enter your username and password to authenticate. 
    Note: This step is only required if your login session has expired.
  3. Verify the meeting details captured by the Teams app, including the meeting title, organizer, participants, and meeting date and time. Update the information as needed.

  1. In the Meeting Assets section, select the content you want to include in the communication record, such as conversation messages, transcripts, recordings, or shared files.
  2. Click Generate summary to create a meeting summary. Review and modify the generated content as needed.
    Note: If you have Microsoft Teams Premium, we’ll use the summary generated by Teams. Otherwise, we’ll generate one for you.
  3. Click + Related Records to link the communication to existing Borealis records, if applicable.
  4. Click + Additional Fields to enter any optional information, such as engagement plan, subject category, or other classification details.

  1. Click + Task to create follow-up tasks related to the communication, if required.
  2. Click Send to Borealis.

A confirmation message appears indicating that the communication was created successfully. Select View Communication to open the record in Borealis.
