When a meeting has already been recorded in Borealis as a Planned Engagement, use the Borealis tab in Microsoft Teams to update the existing record with meeting content and convert it from Planned to Recorded.
Steps to Update an Existing Communication
- Open the relevant Teams meeting or chat, and then open the Borealis tab.
- Connect to your Borealis instance, and then click Login. Enter your username and password to authenticate.
Note: This step is only required if your login session has expired. - If a matching communication record already exists in Borealis, a banner on the top in blue will appears indicating that an existing communication was found.
- Click Update Existing to update the existing communication record instead of creating a new one.
- Review the participants detected from the Teams meeting.
In the Meeting Assets section, select the content you want to add to the communication record, such as conversation messages, transcripts, recordings, or shared files.

- Click Update in Borealis.
A confirmation message appears indicating that the communication was updated successfully. The selected Teams meeting assets are added to the document section in the existing communication record in Borealis.
💡 Tip: Open the communication record in Borealis to review the newly added meeting content and verify that the engagement record is complete.
