After a new issue record is added, its status is automatically set to open, or if the fields in assessment tab have been completed, then open - assessed. The following figure shows how one status flows into the next.
The status field for an issue record can have any of the following values:
Open: Indicates that the issue is ready to be assessed. If the status is open - assessed the system sets the status back to open if you have cleared the information in the assessment tab and saved the issue. It is allowed to make changes to the issue record.
Open - assessed: Indicates that the issue has been assessed. If the status is open the system sets the status to open - assessed once you have completed the information in the assessment tab and saved the issue. It is allowed to make changes to the issue record
Closed - resolved: Indicates that the issue was closed and any outstanding matters were settled. It is not allowed to make changes to the issue record.
Closed - unresolved: Indicates that issue was closed but the one or more outstanding matters could not be settled. It is not allowed to make changes to the issue record.
Closed - referred to external mechanism: Indicates that issue was closed because that the matter was referred to another party to be settled and that it not being managed in the system
It is not allowed to make changes to the issue record.
Closed - no basis for issue: Indicates that the issue was closed because that it was decided that the matters raised did not qualify as an issue. It is not allowed to make changes to the issue record.
Depending on the status, the workflow menu for an issue record has the following options:
Close: This option only appears when the status is open or open - assessed. After selecting this option, the system will ask you to complete the information in the close-out tab. It is not possible to close an issue if the information in the assessment tab is not completed. Depending on the resolution type the system will set the status to closed - resolved, closed - unresolved, closed - referred to external mechanism or closed - no basis for issue.
Reopen: This option only appears when the status is inactive. It sets the status to open, or if information in the assessment tab is complete, to open - assessed. The system will not change the status of any records in the positions table.
