Access Borealis

The Borealis web platform is a cloud based application that you can access anywhere as long as you have an active internet connection, a web browser, and are properly setup in the database by your IT team.

You can also access and send data to Borealis from the mobile application or send communications to Borealis with the Outlook add-in.

What you Need Before Accessing Borealis

Before you can access the Borealis Application you will need:

  • A laptop, computer, mobile phone, or tablet with access to the Internet
  • A Web browser: Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari
  • The login information assigned to you by your system administrator
  • The website address for the Borealis instance of your organization provided by your system administrator

Log Into the Borealis Instance of Your Company

With a Username and Password

  1. Open your web browser.
  2. Enter the website address for the Borealis application of your organization provided by your system administrator.
  3. Enter your Username and Password in the login window.
  4. Click the Login button.

Tips: If you see a message such as ‘authentication failure’ make sure that you have correctly entered your username and password and click on "Login" again. If still unsuccessful, contact your system administrator.

With Your Enterprise Login

When accessing Borealis through your enterprise login, you will likely be automatically redirected to your enterprise login page and, depending on your organization settings, maybe a also automatically logged in.

  1. Open your web browser.
  2. Enter the website address for the Borealis application of your organization provided by your system administrator.
  3. Click on the Enterprise login under the login information.
  4. Follow instructions as indicated.
  5. Click the Login button.

Log out of the Borealis Instance

  1. Click on your User Profile icon in the right hand corner of the top bar.
  2. Select the Logout option

Tips: For security reasons, it is recommended that you logout as soon as you are done using the Borealis Application. 

Session Timeout

When you log into the Borealis Application, you open a "session". For security reasons, this session will timeout after 30 minutes of inactivity where you have not performed any actions in Borealis. Note that the session timeout may vary based on your organization settings.

Before the session expires, a message will be displayed on your screen. If you wish to continue working and keep any unsaved changes, you can click the "Extend" button.

Tips: If your session expires you may avoid losing any of your unsaved changes by logging back into the application in the same window; however, it is better to always save any changes you make as soon as possible.
