Add a Titleholder to Your Land Title

Titleholders are stakeholders owning a title on a property as defined by a land title. In Borealis, when a land title contains a parcel with its titleholder; the stakeholder, land title, and parcel are automatically linked.

Important: Adding (linking) or unlinking titleholders from a land title should generally only happen if there was an error during data entry. If the ownership of your land title changes, a new land title should be created (which will prompt the deactivation of the old one).

Add a Titleholder to an Existing Land Title

  1. Navigate to Land titles in Land access.
  2. Select and open the land title to which you want to add a titleholder.
  3. In the left hand record menu, click the + Add in-line option for Titleholders OR select Titleholders and click the + Add button in the Titleholders information page.

  4. Select the titleholder, or create a new one (individual or organisation), from the Stakeholder drop-down list.
  5. You can also select the type of tenancy from the Tenancy type drop-down list, specify the Titleholder interest and Alias.
  6. Click the Save button.

Edit a Titleholder Information in a Land Title

  1. Navigate to Land titles in Land access.
  2. Select and open the land title for which you want to edit a titleholder.
  3. In the left hand menu, select Titleholders.
  4. Mouseover the titleholder whose information you want to edit.
  5. Click the Edit button on the right hand side of the information window.

  6. Modify the information as needed.
  7. Click the Save button.

Remove a Titleholder From a Land Title

If the titleholder are linked to the parcel of this land title, you will be unable to remove them. In that case, you will need to correct the parcel information which will automatically update the titleholder information for the land title.

  1. Navigate to Land titles in Land access.
  2. Select and open the land title for which you want to remove a titleholder.
  3. In the left hand menu, select Titleholders.
  4. Mouseover the titleholder whose information you want to remove.
  5. Click the Remove button on the right hand side of the information window.
