Indicators are great options when you want to present key numbers in reports. They highlight very efficiently the essence of the results you are presenting while being visually interesting to catch the reader’s eye.
To edit your Indicator value, add additional indicators as needed and specify a formula in the Equation field.
Besides the options in the properties tab, you can also further customize your widgets by adding Filters to your widgets or by adding calculated values.
To create a composite indicator, you can add additional indicators to your base indicator. Each indicator will have its own Properties tab.

Define a formula for Your Indicator
You can define a formula to create your indicator. You can create complex formulae through the use of operators. You can also combine those operators with parentheses to perform complex operations.
- Navigate to Widgets in Analytics.
- Open the Indicator widget for which you want to define a formula.
- Click on the Edit button in the upper right corner.
- Click inside the Equation field.
- Create your formula by clicking on the desired items under the Equation field. You can use the following operators + (add), - (subtract), * (multiply), / (divide), ^ (exponent), and combine them with any number of additional indicators added to your indicator bar, manually entered numbers, and parentheses.
- Click the Save button.
Set a Display Format for Your Indicator
- Navigate to Widgets in Analytics.
- Open the Indicator widget for which you want to define a display format.
- Click on the Edit button in the upper right corner.
- Select the display format for your indicator widget from the Display format drop-down list.
- Percentage: Displays the indicator value as a percentage.
- Currency: Displays the indicator value as a currency configured for your system.
- Number: Displays the indicator value as a number.
- Click the Save button.
Define the Number of Decimals for Your Indicator
- Navigate to Widgets in Analytics.
- Open the Indicator widget for which you want to define the number of decimals.
- Click on the Edit button in the upper right corner.
- Specify the number of decimals.
- Click the Save button.
Add Additional Indicators to Your Indicator
- Navigate to Widgets in Analytics.
- Open the indicator widget to which you want to add another indicator.
- Click on the Edit button in the upper right corner.
- On the Indicator bar, click the + Add button.
- Select the data you want to add to your indicator from the Form drop-down list.
- Set your new indicator widget properties.
- Modify your Equation to add the new indicator where appropriate.
- Click the Save button.
Remove an Indicator From Your Indicator
- Navigate to Widgets in Analytics.
- Open the Indicator widget from which you want to remove an indicator
- Click on the Edit button in the upper right corner.
- On the Indicator bar, click the - Remove widget button.
- Adjust your Equation to remove the indicator if applicable.
- Click the Save button.
Reorganize the Sequence of Your Indicator Widgets on Your Indicator Bar
- Navigate to Widgets in Analytics.
- Open the Indicator widget in which you want reorganize the sequence of the chart bar.
- Click on the Edit button in the upper right corner.
- On the Indicator bar, click on the name of the indicator and drag it to a new position on the bar.
A line indicator will show the new position on the bar. - Click the Save button.
